Transportation Study Nearly Complete

Three team members recently set out on a long, hot summer weekend to survey one of the most important roads in northern New Jersey and its impact on commercial revitalization. Bloomfield Avenue runs through more than ten towns and is the leading corridor between I-80 and I-280; its role in the revitalization of numerous communities in the area can’t be ignored. Our consultants focused on traffic design and wayfinding improvements that are achievable at the municipal level. After an intense tour of local communities (more than 25 adjacent towns) and best practices, our recommendations proposed improvements in areas that include: gateways, public spaces, lighting and curb extensions, parking and bus shelters, bike racks and trees.
