Wander Group Recognized at Mayor’s Awards for Historic Preservation

Mayor’s Awards for Historic PreservationOctober 23rd was an exciting evening for Wander Group! Held at the Decatur House (next door to The White House), Mayor Anthony Williams recognized the efforts of Erik Johnson and Shirley Boubert at the Annual Mayor’s Awards in Historic Preservation. Representing Wander Group in a team effort that included PBS’ “This Old House,” they assisted in the restoration and renovation of an 1879 three-story Victorian home. Now complete, this urban row house in historic Mt. Vernon neighborhood provides affordable housing to the Velazquez family. Wander Group provided support to the District’s Home Again Initiative, which bundles abandoned and foreclosed properties for resale in order to rehabilitate them and increase levels of modestly-priced housing in the Nation’s Capitol. Congratulations to all Mayor’s Awards winners!
